Maryland v. Iowa basketball game -Kyle Russo

Sophomore journalism major Charlotte Crook checks out the newspapers given to students before the  Maryland v. Iowa basketball game at UMD on Thursday, Jan. 30th. The papers were a play on the Jurassic Park franchise, which was one of the themes of the game.


Two members of the Pep Band, junior journalism major Jake Bowen and senior psychology major Alex Ostrander, mess around with the dinosaur toys given to students before the Maryland v. Iowa basketball game at UMD on Thursday, Jan. 30th. The toys were another part of the game's Jurassic Park theme.

At the Maryland v. Iowa basketball game on Thursday, Jan. 30th, students keep the UMD tradition of shaking newspapers at the opposing team at the start of the game. This time, the papers featured a custom Jurassic Park-inspired logo.


At UMD, the student section fills up as the start of the Maryland v. Iowa basketball game nears on Thursday, Jan. 30th. Each student sported a free shirt with a custom logo in the likeness of Jurassic Park.
